Does not use ink at all but does use toner. The printer comes with a starter supply of toner, enough for about 100 pages , I believe , though not sure of exact number.

It actually uses toner and not ink and comes with the toner for your first use . I asked how long it will last and was made to understand that it can print 2 rims of paper so I think is fair enough. Replacement toner is sold between $70-120.

500 pages as listed on the sites where the printers are sold.
