The paper gets loaded on the top where you open the lid. if you are scanning you load the paper in the front above where it prints.

If using it as a printer, the paper is loaded in the back and it comes out the front, under the extended tray (first picture).

If using it as a scanner, load the originals in the front and the originals come out the back where paper is loaded to use as a printer(second picture).

If using as a copier, load originals in the front (second picture) and they come out the front under the extended tray where the paper comes out front if using as a printer.

Thank you for the question. The paper tray on the OfficeJet Mobile 250 folds up to support the paper that is fed from the rear.
