• Yes, you can connect from you phone using the printer's internal Wifi and your phones internal wifi in a direct connection. You do not need to be setup on a wireless network. You can also load the FREE HP Smart app to print, copy and scan from your iphone using the phones camera or the printer scanbed.

• Yes you are able to send files to print from phone and laptop without the wire connection. In regards to WiFi. I just turned off the WiFi from my phone and I was able to send a file to print.
