To use the printer as a printer or copier, no you don't. Having a landline would be the easiest way if you need to send or receive faxes, although there are services like eFax that allow you to do faxes without a landline. If you don't have a landline in your house but you'd like one, you'll need to contact your phone company.

It is now in the basement and literally just plugged into the wall!! It was so so sooo easy to set up! Im am totally clueless with technology. The directions totally walk you through. You do need your cell phone for set up and you connect it via wif from there! Good luck and hope this helps
