This comes with standard size ink cartridges.

Great question. The printer actually comes with a full set of standard yield ink cartridges. They actually come with a little extra ink inside for the initial printer set up and calibration.

According to the HP rep I spoke with at Best Buy last week, he said that HP has done away with the practice of providing ink cartridges (in new printers) that are only marginally filled; people were complaining (and rightly so).

Having said that, I would assume they provide the standard and not the 'XL' fill.
