You have to install a driver and related app from the included CD or online, depending on your system. Then you can either use the touch screen to scan and send to your computer or you can launch the app on your computer and initiate the scan.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I scan all the time to my mac. So it depends on what computer you are scanning to. But if you can scan from a HP to a Mac, you can scan anywhere!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have tried to use the provided CD, and it DOES NOT work for those of us in Canada as confirmed today with Staples. You MUST use the HP website to use their software for the printer as their CD does not work. I am extremely disappointed with this, and have had nothing but frustration with putting it on my laptop. GRRR. If I had of known this or be advised by the Vendor, I may have made another choice of printers. What do you think HP???

The other option is downloading the software from HP's driver download page. You can scan using the auto document feeder or the glass flatbed scanner in the printer.
