I use the USB cable on most of my installs. Never had any problems..

Please try again later.I've no idea why it would have a tag telling you not to use the USB-B port on the back to connect to a computer, because that's what it's there for, and it works. With that said, there are some advantages for not using it: If you connect through WiFi, it opens up a lot of possibilities, including printing from anywhere with your laptop or mobile device, getting the extra year of warranty with HP+, and the free six months of ink if you sign up for Instant Ink. If you decide to hardware the printer to your computer, any USB printer cable will work if it's long enough
