I don't scan, but my husband does loads. He now has 2 dedicated Epson scanners for this purpose, as he scans so many photos and other documents. We don't have the 9015, yet, but we have the generation before this one, the 9010. He said that if the printer has an option or setting that says, "detect image", then it will be able to detect them and separate what you're scanning into individual files. He said that he doesn't really care for that setting, as it will crop the image, so he prefers to separate the images himself. He does scan several photos at a time, then separates them, so he's quite familiar with how to do that. I hope this helps you out.,

Once downloaded, Place photos on the flatbed / glass Open HP Scan. Set options, including Page Size = Detect Photos. Check / Adjust settings in More > Click OK to save out of any sub-menu When ready, Click Scan.
