“Can you use the USB hub in the USB port? I understand the power passthrough would not work. However, would the HDMI and other ports on the hub work? The Anker USB C Hub, PowerExpand 8-in-1 USB C Adapter is the one I am looking at for this machine.”

Power throughput is determined by your USB hub. All other plug and play functions are a given to work.

I bought the HyperDrive 9-Port Universal USB-C Hub - USB-C Docking Station for Laptops from BestBuy and plugging in my Garmin 1030 Edge it charges and works exactly the same as if I were plugging directly into the the laptop. I'm not sure if the USB Port extension would work the same, but the USB-C works fine for me.
