I don't know about your printer, but mine is an older one, too, an HP ENVY 4500, and it is working well with this new PC.

after I upgraded my PC to 11, I had similar issues. I have an ancient HP DeskjetF4500 wouldn't connect. was able to load the software in the compatibility mode from the printer install disc. so if ya still have that, it might work for ya.

Is this a question, or are you just justifying to yourself the spending of the money?
