Thank you for the question. Are you referring to cartridges? There is no move to inhibit the use of cartridges or other supplies. You can use compatible after-market supplies. However, Genuine HP cartridges have ink/toner "recipes" for best printer performance and security measures (hence the chips on inkjet and toner cartridges) that non-HP products do not. Did you know that your entire IT system can be hacked through a single toner cartridge by a hacker re-programming the chip? Not with HP cartridges, because of the security measures designed specifically for your printer model.
