Yes. there are 2 memory sockets available for ease of upgrades. DDR4 3200 will need to be installed in both RAM slots and Bios/UEFI modified to OV Clock Mem speed. As with any Gaming/Content creation Laptop normal game loading will have different performance when over clocking the GPU. The NVidia 1660Ti GPU onboard this Laptop is an excellent graphics card that has been benched marked to play all current Games on par with the Radeon 5600m. This Laptop is a Gamers and Content creators delight!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For your first question kinda. The bord can only suport up to 2933mhz ddr4 ram. Now if u put in 3200mhz it will work its compatible however the speed will default to 2933mhz. Don't put anything faster then 3200mhz. If u do you will have compatibility problems. For your second question yes this is normal but also fixable. When not plugged in the laptop will, to save power, will prefer the integrated graphics. So what happens is when a game tries to load it realizes that the integrated graphics suck and will switch to your dedicated gpu. That's what causes weird things to happen when booting up a game. To fix this you will need to go in to nvidia control panel and set it to where your dedicated gpu is always preferred. Another thing. The battery can not put out enough power to power the gpu to max performance that's why the laptop performs poorly when not plugged in. For max performance keep the laptop plugged in.
