Is it a metal or plastic laptop null

Yes. It is made of both. It appears to be a brushed metal on the interior & the exterior also has a metallic appearance. However, a laptop made completely of metal would most likely be weight prohibitive in this price range. This laptop does a good job of making the overall appearance consistent & metallic. It is my understanding that the exterior cover is metal, recycled aluminum & the plastic components are recycled "ocean bound plastics'.

The cover is made with recycled metal.
