It's easy (one screw) to get the side panel off. A quick search shows that there are several x1 PCIe Firewire cards that should meet your needs and plug into the available slot with room to add a graphics card in the remaining x16 PCIe slot if you wanted to throw in a more powerful GPU later. The Firewire card shouldn't need a power supply upgrade, but any GPU that improves on the integrated graphics likely will forge a power supply upgrade.
