By using any of the video ports on the motherboard (where the VGA is) you would not be using the GPU. To use that VGA port you must remove the GPU from the computer but there is no reason why you should ever do that, the performance of the computer is greatly degraded. If you need VGA then get an HDMI or DisplayPort adapter. If your monitor has other connections besides VGA I recommend using them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The CAP on the VGA cover is just a dust cover. If you want to use it, just pull the cover off and plug it in. The Ryzen 5 chip for desktop does not have native graphics. That's what the RX580 is for. Just plug into that and you will be fine. Keep in mind that VGA connections have the lowest bandwidth for video, games, etc... There fine for word processing work though
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ignore the caps on the back, if you look in the back (right above where the power connector is) you’ll see an HDMI and 3 DP slots. What I Would do is get an “HDMI to VGA” cable to connect to the monitor that way (Best Buy sells this kind of cable already).
