Easy find a compatible dual channel ram with 2x8GB moduals. You’ll have to check the specifications on HP. There is also videos you can watch to set the correct mghz for the ram that you choose. I upgraded the ram on the same desktop. Made a dip for my gaming needs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.RAM is usually easy to upgrade. With the power off, you would open the desktop, you will see the RAM on the motherboard. You would pull out the old RAM. Sometimes there are latches. See how the slots are laid out. Then insert the new RAM. It should just snap into the slot. You would always put the biggest one one in first slot. In this case, you would only need to add the 8 gigabytes of RAM into the 2nd slot to have a total of 16 gigabytes of RAM. Make sure that 2nd RAM stick matches the first. After it installed, then you can turn on the computer. Here is more information on the desktop: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06124756 If you need more assistance, I would recommend reaching out to HP Support or Best Buy's Geek Squad.
