Most of your games will be fine with 8 but I recommend the upgrade to 16. Any ram will work just confirm that the ram run by default at the speed because you cant change speeds in this HP Bios.

I have 16 myself but when monitoring my computer I was rarely exceeding 8GB even on higher settings. At any rate, you can use most any RAM module to these specs. Just make sure it is compatible with the Ryzen processor.
