“Can I set this up and place on its side? If so is one side better then the other? I'm thinking of getting a vented stand to place it on laying it down on its side to save space?”

I know that where I work, it is frequently done. This unit standing up has no vent holes on it's right side. It does have vent holes on top, and on the left side of the unit. The problem with laying it down on it's right side is, you will have to put a stand above it so you do not cover the vent holes that were originally on the left side. I leave mine standing up, for it takes up less space for me.
