- Answer I wouldn't trust what Windows says as far as battery life left. Especially with a new laptop. The laptop won't last 18 hours but probably around 10. These OEM's states these claims but forget to tell you how they tested it. Probably low brightness, no wifi or bluetooth on and etc.

However, a free program (WPS suite) is available on line and for most purposes and the average user is equivalent to what Office provides. I loaded it seamlessly, and it has been working perfectly so far, and is compatible with all my old files that were created in Office formats.

- Answer Thank you for the question. The SSD (solid-state drive) is internal. The Micro SD card alot (for micro secure digital cards) can be used for ancillary storage. Yes, you can write to it or access existing files from it.
