• The newer models only have hp on the lid. And the older models Hewlett Packard on top.

• I noticed that when I was researching HP Spectre systems. I believe it is based on the make (year it was made) and model of the system. My new one has HP on the lid. The older model had Hewlett Packard spelled out on the lid.
