• Hiya - I bought mine on July 3rd. Quite happy with it in all respects, especially the amazing 4k screen. Regarding fan noise, it was VERY loud when I first got it and seemed to run always even when temps were down to 35c, but a recent BIOS update has addressed that very nicely. It runs very cool and you are able to adjust a bit to suit need withing the HP Command Center settings. The loudest one is the Cool setting since it will ramp up the fan; performance is middling level, and balanced is practically silent - though it will run you a bit warmer than I personally care to. Pick your level and you are good to go. Cheers! =)

• I can hear the fan, but there is no whistling noise. It sounds like a typical laptop fan to me.
