I just purchased this as well and researched the ability to upgrade SSD to 1 TB before purchasing. Although no simple HD cover and access as in earlier gen laptops, it appears that the back is relatively simple to remove and then the replacement is not all that daunting. Not for novices, mind you, but looks like 8 screws and the back pops off with minimal effort. The 512 Gb SSD may be enough for me. Added a 256 Gb SSD and storage to spare so far. Good luck!

These systems are not modular like those from computer manufacturers who build them directly, or PCs, which have tons of options and free bays.
