The current version with the 7th gen dual core i7 uses a Toshiba NVME with a 1500 MiB/sec sequential read speed and write speed in the 900s ( compared to the LOW END Samsung PM961 with read specs that are twice as fast... Lenovo Yoga 720 uses these. The SM961 OEM drives have even faster write speeds and IOPS.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine, which is the recent 8th Gen i7-8550 upgraded laptop model, comes with the THNSN5512GPUK from Toshiba, it's a 3rd Gen Nvme 512 GB M.2 SSD. Ymmv however, as HP may source from different suppliers so the actual installed model could vary by geography and manufacturing date.
