“I want to just use this to generate my Etsy shipping labels when I’m at my boyfriends who does not have internet and router (therefore can’t just air print to a printer). I need something to do only that . So can this run off a hot spot through the phone?”

There are three ways that you can print without internet or wi-fi. You can connect a printer to a USB port on the laptop or you can use Wi-Fi direct connection on the printer. The Wi-Fi direct connection allows you to essentially connect to the printer directly. You do want to be sure that the printer has the Wi-Fi direct connection capability. Or you can connect the laptop and the printer to your hotspot. You do want to be sure that the printer is set up on your laptop.
