• Yes it can and Crucial has actually tested this laptop with their 64 Gig kit, so HP is wrong about the Max RAM.

• Thank you for the question. Yes, you can switch out the SSD in favor of one with more capacity. There are two RAM slots and you can upgrade up to 32GB.

• Laptop has a single NVME port and no SATA ports. To upgrade the drive, replacing w a larger NVME is the only option. I swapped out mine for a 2TB drive. Relatively easy.
