Yes, there is a switch on the bottom to turn the mouse on and off. It also has an auto-off feature. Something else cool is the small compartment inside the battery well for storing the receiver dongle.

Yes there is an on off button on the bottom. You have to hold it in and the light will go out when it shuts off. It's a good idea to preserve battery life. But you have to turn it back on to use, (it won't shut off or start up on it's own)
