Hydrow utilizes software-driven electro-magnetic resistance which is significantly quieter than alternative methods of creating resistance, such as water or air. This also allows each Hydrow user to adjust their "Drag" setting to their individual preference.

It’s an computer controlled electromagnetic system. Unlike other towers with this type, this one truly mimics the feel as if you are on water. On the screen it’s set as drag and defaults to 104. It’s a great starting point and I have yet no need to change it.
