• The HyperDrive allows me to plug the Macbook charger into it, and thus leave the 2nd drive open for other use.

• Because the device is bus powered, the HyperDrive will draw its power from the laptop. Depending on how many peripherals are connected will determine how much power will be taken from the laptop. To charge the laptop, you will want to connect a USB-C charger to the device .
