• Yes, I took mine to Uk and it worked perfectly fine and charged fine too

• You'd want a transformer if they do not manufacture a Hypervolt Plus for the UK market. The cord is only used when charging, and it has a transformer built into the cord for the US consumers. It was well worth the money in my opinion, but you'll want to email the company directly and ask them what is most appropriate for your circumstance.
