“I am using this with Xbox one. I am getting some white noise when I plug it in to my controller and play fortnite. Any suggestions as to why and if I should bring it back and get a different one. Ty”

I’m using it on Xbox and playing Fortnite and have no white noise. Try a friends controller to see if it’s the headset or If you can try over a friends house with their controller to remove possible problems with your system. If still making noise, take it back and get another one. Good luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine don’t give me any extra noise except for an occasional echo in party chat if I turn up the volume to the max. It sometimes echoes from the headphones back to the mic. Try a different controller maybe? Or swap for a new headset.
