• I am able to go to the other end of my house and downstairs no problem - not a big house but I would think that you would be fine in an open room

• My house is an open floor plan. I it will reach from upstairs in one end to downstairs in other end, but sometime when I go behind some walls it goes out and come by in. I would not recommend it for yoga because they easily fall off you head if you lay down.
