Windows is pre-installed on the PC so there is no immediate need for them, unless you later down the road want/need to reinstall Windows or have other disk like (games or music) you want to play. then the best option is to buy an external disk drive as most PC users buy an upgraded or faster one then what comes stock with PC's anyway. Also there is much debate/personal preference on which disk drive to purchase which is why the disk drive is not included in the first place (smart choice on there end as it lowered the already low price of the PC for us to buy) for reference here is a decent middle of the road disk drive (this reference is just from a quick look at what is in stock at stores and is just an option and not professional advice thanks) LG - 8x External USB 2.0 Blu-ray Disc Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Disc Rewriter - Black Model: BP50NB40 SKU: 9243009
