Metal frame of computer case is best. Really anywhere that's there's metal is the proper location. Just don't clip it near your component you're installing since the static charge could jump from the clip to the component.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You want to attach the alligator clip to a metal part of the pc case, ideally bare metal without any paint on it. Make sure it's secure so it doesn't get unclipped while you're moving around.
