NO! The bits are NOT magnetic. There is a magnet in the screwdriver that lends some slight magnetism to the bits when used ONLY with the screwdriver. If you use the extension, there will be no magnetism. If you use these bits on another screw driver, there will be no magnetism. If you use the bits WITH the screw driver provided, they will have some slight magnetism to hold screws.

It actually has more in it than this one, with an added knife-pry tool. Added to that, our local Best Buy had them on a price drop for $29. These were in the same aisle as PC and Laptop parts and accessories, so I felt like a kid in a candy store.
