“Will the TV remote control sound on an external sound bar or speakers? I'd like to connect an insignia sound bar. But my wife does NOT want a second remote, nor a 3rd party remote. BTW, we have two of these TV and LOVE them. Would like better sound tho.”

The T.V. remote or cable or satellite remote will control the sound bar thru the T.V. No need to use the sound bar remote.

Please try again later.Hello psbrightly, the remote is not meant to work as a universal remote, so it wont be able to control an external device by itself, however if the soundbar is CEC compatible you will be able to control it by enabling the CEC on your TV settings.
