You can buy a cord that has a 1/8 inch (headphone jack male) on 1 end and component jacks (white & red stereo cable) on the other end.

Change your default output after configuring for Surround speakers. If you have further trouble, you could click start and in the search box, type "troubleshoot". Choose "Troubleshooting" in the results and then select "Troubleshoot audio playback" on Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting dialog in Windows 7.
