Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, it’s generally normal for the compressor in your Insignia™ 1.7 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge to turn on and off every 3 to 4 minutes during the initial cooling process. This can happen especially if the fridge is empty, the room temperature is warm, or the thermostat is set to a colder setting. The compressor works in short bursts to quickly bring the internal temperature down to the desired level. Additionally, if the door has been opened recently, warm air entering the fridge can cause the compressor to cycle more frequently. This behavior should stabilize after a few hours once the fridge reaches its set temperature. However, if the frequent cycling continues beyond 24 hours, it might indicate issues such as poor ventilation, a thermostat problem, or a faulty sensor. Make sure the fridge has enough space around it for proper airflow and isn’t placed near a heat source. Keith | Insignia Support
