• Dear customer, that would depend on what the USB port on the apple TV is for, the cable itself is just for charging and transferring data from one USB device to a mini-USB device or backwards. Omar S. - Insignia Support.

• The current Gen-4 Apple TV uses a USB Type C connection (along with HDMI). Since this cable is a USB Type A, it will not work with the Gen-4 Apple TV by itself. You would need an adapter to use this cable, or you can get a USB Type C to Micro-USB cable.
