After several days of ownership and operation, I can answer this question myself. The unit was back to a normal metal cool-to-the-touch feel after less than 18 hours. The warm feel then returned a few days later when I loaded the freezer with 10 or so pounds of freshly bought refrigerated meat, only to disappear after another 12 hours or so. This leads me to believe that the warm feel is caused by the compressor, coils, and other refrigeration parts going into high gear to first, reach the normal operating temperature for a refrigerator, as determined by my selection, and second, maintaining the set temperature (10 degrees) after I added a substantial amount of above-freezing matter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine has a warm side too.
