Hi Ruth. Thank you for trusting us, knowing that we will answer your question accurately. As indicated on the manual of this product (available on our website), to tilt the fan up and down in an angle requires you to loosen the adjusting knob on the base of the product. Make sure it is not tight, and that you are turning in the correct direction to loosen it.
