Depends on your printer model. Many newer HP printer models allow wifi-only installation - Although wifi installation is slightly more complicated, No cables are needed with wifi.

Hi. Thank you for sharing this inquiry with us. This Cable allow you to link USB 2.0 peripherals, such as printers and scanners, with your computer's USB 2.0 port.
