I have the same question and the answers provided here are about as useless as I have ever seen. No one wants to know what is "usual" or "typical". No one wants to know you moved the refrigerator over a bit to accommodate the door opening and it works for you. Really? That's helpful. The question is how much space is needed for THIS refrigerator door to open. The refrigerator in our main kitchen needs zero extra space on the sides to open to 90 degrees properly. So, it would be helpful if Best Buy and consumers would stop posting useless answers to this question.

Bottom Mount Refrigerator, you'll need to allow some space between the refrigerator and the wall to fully open the doors. Typically, refrigerators require a clearance of about 2-3 inches on the hinge side to open the doors without obstruction. However, this can vary depending on the design of the door and the placement of the hinges. If the refrigerator is placed flush against a wall, the doors may not open completely, potentially limiting access to the interior compartments. It's recommended to refer to the user manual or product specifications for the exact clearance requirements for your model.
