• Yes...this cable enhanced the TV's ability to promote 'best' sound. In not, I would highly suggest a 'sound-bar' these have fallen in price and will give you a great sound for the money overall.

• Are you currently using hdmi cables to connect from the box to the tv? I don't think switching hdmi cables will help your sound. Since it is digital, either the sound works or it doesn't. Perhaps there are some settings on the HD box for sound? Or in the TV audio menu?

• I have a Samsung TV. It is in a built in cubicle. The sound comes out the back of the TV and ours also was very low volume. I used metal book ends and placed them behind the speaker area of our TV and it forces the sound out into the room at a very low cost.

• My sound is great except when watching DVDs. It depends on how old your television is, I guess and how your HD box works. My DVR is HD and I have no problems with sound.

• The HDMI cable is designed to improve both video and audio. It may fix your problem.

• I think with this tv u really need a seperate sound source. Also. Check the sound setting on the tv menu... I had to do that. Hope this helps! Good luck
