• Charlie, I bought the version of the cable with both ends as RCA male. I am using it to hook up some older recording equipment that I recently relocated into my home recording studio. It is going from a Tascam Porta01 4 track multitrack machine with female outputs to another unit a Fostex Digital 16 track multitrack machine that has RCA females inputs. A lot of older stereo equipment used female RCA connections because they are cheaper with medium quality sound. So this cable with RCA male connectors on both ends usually is used to connect two different pieces of audio equipment together JASOND
