“Does this extension support a headset with a built in mic? ie not just headphones?”

• (Not Plugging, j/k) I've heard the answer being no. Some say yes though. The HyperX I have does have a mic, but using it with either USB and the controller or without requires a 4 pin connector, which this package does not contain. This one is 3 pin, for lack of better words. If you need a 4, then you might have to shop around for another product. However, this is fine for just listening to music.

• Yes, I use this has an extension for my apple headphones with the 3.5mm jack. I have had no issues. The length of this cord means I can move about freely in my desk space during class.

• No, this is a two conductor plug / cable, so only supports stereo audio, no microphone.
