Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the computer does not sit on top of this fan. This fan attaches to the inside of your computer's case. The computer case should have one, or more, places where fans, such as this, can be attached to it. These fan mounting points might be in the front of the case, back of the case, at the top, bottom, or even the sides of the case. Depending on where the fans are located they are either used to draw cool air into the case, or to exhaust hot air out of the case. Usually, case fans are attached with screws to the case, but check your case to see how the fans are attached to it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The case fan is for installation inside the computer case. I added additional cooling for my computer to accomodate a cpu upgrade and overclocking the the cpu. There are usuaĺy at least two fans in a desktop pc. A fan on the cpu heatsink and a case fan. Some pcs have as many as three case fans as well as a fan on the cpu heatsink. Some newer systems use liquid cooling of the cpu with one or more fans associated with the heat exchanger. A quick search for "pc case fans" wil give you links to installation instructions and how to demonstrations.
