Hello, thank you for your question. On the Insignia 13.8 Cu. Ft. Garage‑Ready Convertible Upright Freezer, the touchpad or number‑pad lights on the door are designed to turn off automatically when the door is closed. This is a normal energy‑saving feature. When you open the door, the control panel wakes up and the blue lights turn back on so you can see and use the controls. This behavior does not indicate a malfunction. Poojitha | Insignia
