Yes, the unit has two drain pains to catch the condensate. One is on top of the compressor motor, and the other is an overflow where the refrigerant lines run through in order to evaporate the liquid if it make sit to this container. No manual draining is needed, and in a year of operation in freezer mode, the secondary pan has never had any liquid in it.
