Hello, I don't think it gets cold enough to require defrosting. Ideal wine storage temp is about 56 degrees. I am running the thermostat control at 25% to maintain this wine storage temp. I would set it colder if storing white wine cool enough to serve. Scott

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best way to defrost it without risking damaging the cooling lines is to empty it, unplug it, and wipe out the frost and water with a towel. If it is frosting over allot, try reducing the temp and get a thermometer for the inside so it doesn't ruin your wine.
