Unfortunately we do not currently offer a Tip negative version of this power adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. What's worse is that they manufactured it so that even though the product says the voltage at the tip should be negative, it is in fact positive at the tip. I tried forcing the large prong into the smaller diameter receptacle (as others have suggested), but I couldn't do it without doing irreparable damage. I think I prefer to cut the cord and reversing the wires so that I know that the connections at the tip will hold securely.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you reverse the tip it should reverse the polarity as well on this adaptor. If you look really closely you should see a positive and negative symbol where the tip connects. Line it up with the polarity you need.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mogo is right about flipping the tip to reverse the polarity. This is usually done with these kind of ac adapters. The problem is the geniuses at Insignia made one prong thicker than the other, so you have to force the thicker prong into the smaller port. I don't know why they made it like this, but it does work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this item, and even though it said tip positive, all of the adapters would ONLY go in tip negative. Attaching a file to prove this. the pins on the tips are different sizes and can only be inserted one way. It's unbelievable to me that this can happen in a sealed package.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.to reverse polarity, reverse the adapter tip.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy don't know what they have. there are two prongs on the ends, flip them over that will switch the polarity It was designed that way.
